In the addition to the St. Paul Campus a beloved garden was removed to make room for a new needed tower. In the design of the building, the architects planned for a future roof top garden that would take the place of the former garden. Aesthetics was hired to design this future garden. Starting with a visioning session with key stakeholders from throughout the campus, how the garden would be used and desired physical attributes to support those activities were established. Aesthetics created a concept plan that was used by the foundation to fundraise from. When fundraising was complete, Aesthetics was hired to complete the construction drawings and find the artists to make this artistic experience for the children, families and staff. A master gardening program had always been a part of the St. Paul healing garden and continues in this new garden, along with space for physical therapy, respite for families and staff and play for patients and siblings.
