Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital

Being an internationally-ranked pediatric hospital, Stanford Children’s Health attracts children from birth to young adult representing a wide range of cultural backgrounds. Because of the hospital’s prestigious reputation, it was important that the art be accurate, educational, and provide opportunities for positive distraction, interaction, and joy.

Aesthetics was in charge of coordinating the creation of over 500 original pieces of art representing 150 individual artists. The artwork was integrated into architecture, floors, niches, and ceilings that required careful coordination with the design architect, the project architect, engineers, and the general contractor. Included within the art program were two large and complicated artist-designed gardens that were fully coordinated through Aesthetics.
